In the obverse design of 2024 (P) 1 oz Star Privy Silver Eagles, you will find the iconic Walking Liberty effigy. Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this historic visual is among the most popular in American coin history and was originally used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar from 1916 to 1947.
For the reverse of 2024 (P) Star Privy American Silver Eagle Coins, Emily Damstra’s modern depiction of the bald eagle features prominently. Designed for the series in 2020, this new image of the bald eagle debuted in mid-2021. It shows an eagle descending in flight with its wings raised to slow its descent as the talons of the eagle clutch an oak branch.
The 2024 Star Privy Silver Eagle set two important firsts in American Silver Eagle history. First and foremost, this is the first-ever bullion coin from the US Mint to feature a privy mark on the design field. Secondly, and of equal importance, is the mintage. With just 500,000 coins available, this is the lowest mintage of any BU Silver Eagle in the program’s history.
